The Health Disparities Collaboratives (HDC), through HRSA - Health Resources and Services Administration, is an integrated and collaborative national effort to eliminate disparities and improve delivery systems of healthcare to all individuals living in the United States under the care of HRSA-supported Health Centers. The Management and treatment of depression is one of the HDC topics.

Acanthosis nigricans is a darkening of the skin, usually around the neck but sometimes on knuckles, elbows or toes or around the armpits or the groin. Having acanthosis nigricans can a warning sign that a person is at risk for diabetes. This patient education brochure explains basic information about acanthosis nigricans in English and Spanish.

AHECs (Area Health Education Centers) and HETCs (Health Education Training Centers) have regional offices which provide community placements, service learning opportunities and clinical experiences for medical, dental, physician assistant, nursing, pharmacy and allied health students in rural and urban underserved communities. Programs also focus on recruitment, placement, and retention activities to address community and state health care workforce needs.
