Five on Friday: Equipping Clinicians to Respond to Immigrant Patients’ Post-Election Distress
We are hearing from our clinical network that many migrant and immigrant patients are experiencing heightened levels of stress and anxiety. Of course, experiences vary: some are telling their providers that they will just wait and see; others are trying to build emergency plans. Such concerns over and responses to immigration policy and rhetoric impact the health and well-being of our migrant and immigrant communities. To support clinicians serving these populations, this edition of Five on Friday focuses on resources and webinars on this topic.
Claire sent in the IRC Center for Adjustment, Resilience, and Recovery (CARRE)’s new resource for providers on using Psychological First Aid on migrant patients experiencing distress. Election Stress and Discriminatory Rhetoric: Responding with Psychological First Aid (PFA)
