Migrant Clinicians Network CEO Kim Nolte Recognized as 100 Most Influential People in Global Health in 2024

Inaugural TIME100 Health Award Underscores MCN’s Commitment to Health Equity and Justice for Immigrant Communities

Austin, TX – May 2, 2024 - Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN) proudly announces that MCN Chief Executive Officer Kim Nolte, MPH, has been honored by TIME as one of the top 100 people in global health in 2024 through their inaugural TIME100 Health list.

"MCN is dedicated to ensuring that migrant and immigrant communities receive the health care and support they need to thrive," said Nolte. "This recognition underscores MCN’s forty-year commitment to advancing health equity and justice for migrant and immigrant communities worldwide. Our work is more important than ever. The danger of the climate crisis, layered with social, economic, and political changes, is pushing record numbers of people to migrate. These migrants face increased health risks while they migrate and after they arrive, and decreased access to health care even when desperately needed."

As a national nonprofit organization, MCN fights against health disparities and structural racism affecting vulnerable populations, including asylum seekers, farmworkers, and immigrants, by building practical solutions at the intersection of vulnerability, migration, and health. Through innovative programs such as Health Network, MCN’s virtual case management for migrant patients, MCN has demonstrated tangible, cost-effective solutions that save lives while building access to vital health care services. In her tenure as MCN’s CEO, Nolte has elevated MCN as a leader in migrant health, as the health issues facing migrants continue to grow and take center stage.

"From addressing immigration and border health issues to advocating for workers' rights and occupational safety, MCN remains steadfast in promoting human dignity and the human right to migrate as guiding principles," emphasized Nolte.
