Jessica, Fundraising and Foundation Relations Associate, sent around the New York Times article, “Brazil Fights H.I.V. Spike in Youths With Free Preventive Drug,” which sparked plenty of MCN conversation. Lasz, Co-Chief Medical Officer, responded, “Glad to know that Brazil makes Truvida available at about $23 a month, compared to $1,600 a month in the USA. I appreciate the science that went behind the making of this drug available to the public. I also appreciate a health care system that delivers it to those who need it without bankrupting the recipient.” Candace, Specialist in Clinical Systems and Women’s Health, noted, “for a clinical perspective on PrEP, there's a good webinar.”

2017 Premature Birth Report Card

Candace also sent out the following: “Others may not find this information as interesting as I do, but the report from the March of Dimes on premature birth rate breaks statistics down by state, race, and ethnicity. Overall, a discouraging picture.”
