Migrant Clinicians Network Honored as 2014 Top-Rated Nonprofit; GreatNonprofits.org Award is based on Positive Online Reviews

TopRatedNonprofitAUSTIN, TEXAS, November 7, 2014 – Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN) announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2014 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

“We are honored to be named a Top-Rated 2014 Nonprofit, and we’re committed to continued innovation at the intersection of poverty, mobility and health,” noted Karen Mountain, MCN’s Chief Executive Officer. The top rating comes as MCN rounds out an eventful year, during which we formed an External Advisory Board to advance collaboration, we advocated for stronger workplace protections, and we continued our important work supporting clinicians and increasing access to care, with programs like Health Network and our award-winning violence prevention program, Hombres Unidos.

The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that MCN received – reviews written by clinicians, donors and volunteers. People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit. Here’s an example review from our profile page: “MCN has a unique combination of commitment, compassion, and competence. Their programs make a difference in the frontline care of the mobile underserved in community health centers across the US, and in bridging care for those with a chronic condition.”

“Savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations more than ever,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “People with direct experience with MCN have voted that the organization is making a real difference.”

Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization. The reviews by volunteers, clients and other donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit. This award is a form of recognition by the community.
