Monica Fossi, MA, (she/her) is the Translation and Communications Coordinator at MCN. Fossi holds a degree in law and a Master’s degree in Mercantile Law from the Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela. She also earned a Master of Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences at Mississippi State University (MSU) in Spanish and a minor in Business Law. While teaching Spanish at MSU, Fossi was the Coordinator and Lead Recruiter of the Migrant Education Program (MEP) of northern Mississippi, which provides services for migratory children and youths to help them succeed at school despite their family’s constant traveling to follow the crops. This experience with agricultural families led her to work for the National Center for Farmworker Health (NCFH) as a health educator and, later, as Migrant Health Education Products Coordinator. She worked cooperatively with staff from migrant health centers, university researchers, and other individuals involved in farmworker health to carry out, coordinate, and oversee some of the activities needed to comply with the formative, development, assessment, and implementation phases in diverse health programs. In her free time, Fossi enjoys spending time with her family hiking the beautiful mountains around Lake Tahoe and the Sierras or dancing to the rhythms of Latin American music.
