Building Capacity in Community Based Organizations to Strengthen the Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic in Underserved Communities

As we enter year four of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know there is still much to be done to support immigrant and migrant workers and their families as we continue to deal with the impact of COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed the lives of over 6 million people globally and has left hundreds of thousands chronically ill and vulnerable. The ever-changing nature of the COVID-19 virus, and the needs of vulnerable, underserved communities have often outpaced the capacity of community service providers. Community groups often struggle with the increasing demand for culturally and linguistically appropriate resources to respond to changing COVID-19 policy and provide community members with up-to-date, evidence-based public health messaging. Join Migrant Clinicians Network in our upcoming learning collaborative series: Building Capacity in Underserved Communities to Strengthen the Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The four sessions are designed to foster peer-to-peer learning and to continue strengthening the capacity building of community-based organizations. They will give participants the opportunity to observe, develop and implement new ideas through the collective construction of the knowledge, based on the experience, challenges and
opportunities of the participants themselves. These four weekly sessions are 90 minutes each and a certificate of participation can be provided upon request for a total of 6 learning hours. Sessions will feature updated clinical and public health information on COVID-19, highlight effective best practices, and challenges in reaching immigrant and migrant communities.
