Five on Friday: Farmworker Awareness Week 2023
Today, we celebrate Cesar Chavez Day, the final day of National Farmworker Awareness Week. Cesar Chavez impacted the lives of millions of US farmworkers through his activism and leadership, which led to improved worker rights, safer workplaces, strengthened unions, a more informed and empowered worker community, and a national spotlight on the issues that farmworkers face. His work continues to inspire and inform farmworker advocates. Today, we honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez as we continue to push for safer, healthier workplaces and work to remove the barriers to accessing health care that farmworkers routinely experience. Here's a special farmworker-focused edition of Five on Friday.
